We are conveniently located just five minutes drive from the nearest towns of Sherburn in Elmet and Tadcaster. We also have excellent access to the motorway systems of the A1, M1, M62, making Presbytery Guest House a perfect base for exploring the whole of Yorkshire. Whether you want to escape to the rugged tranquility of the Moors, the rolling hills of Dales, or visit the cities of York and Leeds, all can be reached easily from the Guest House.

A stay at Presbytery is heaven for lovers of good food as there are plenty of pubs nearby, serving hearty Yorkshire grub and great local ales. We are also only a stone’s throw away from several fine restaurants that are a must-visit for our foody guests.
The guest house comprises of four bedrooms; 1 family, 1 double, 1 twin and 1 single. All bedrooms have tea and coffee making facilities and free Wi-Fi. Full English or continental breakfast is served in the breakfast room.
We have recently installed security doors at the main entrance to the guest house, which are controlled by a key code system. This ensures the safety of our guests, their cars and belongings.
The Old Presbytery Guest House is located in the heart of North Yorkshire. There are a host of things to entertain the visitor in one of the most beautiful counties of England.
The nearest place of interest is the historical site of Towton Battlefield, just two miles North of us. There is a circular walk with information boards near the village of Towton, which was the location of one of the bloodiest battles during the Wars of the Roses. Thankfully, it’s a lot more peaceful round these parts nowadays.
The village closest to Presbytery Guest House is Sherburn-in-Elmet. Here there are shops, banks, pubs, churches and a weekly market held every Wednesday and Saturday.
The Old Presbytery is also perfectly located for easy access to Sherburn-in-Elmet and Tadcaster industrial areas.
For the keen golfers among you, there is a 18-hole golf course in the Scarthingwell Estate, which is a two minute drive from Presbytery Guest House.
Access to Cities
The guest house is also located for easy access to the major cities of York and Leeds both of which have good Park & Ride facilities.
In York there are many shops for the keen shoppers among you. There are also many restaurants, historical buildings and museums and is also well known for the race course as this is where the Royal Ascot meeting was previously held. There is also York Castle, the Art Gallery, York Minster and the famous river boat rides.
In Leeds there is the University Museum, Royal Armouries Museum and Heritage Walk and an art gallery and good shopping areas.
